New First-Year Student Class Registration
Center for Academic Success and Achievement

Welcome to ¾«Æ·Â鶹! Use the steps below to successfully register for classes.
Steps to register

Register for a Summer Orientation and Registration (SOAR) session.
SOAR is required for first-year students entering in the fall. You'll have fun and register for classes! SOAR 2025 sessions will take place between June 17 and July 10.
Read the guide and complete the Pre-SOAR Canvas course
Before attending SOAR, all first-year students should complete the Pre-SOAR course on Canvas, which will walk you through everything you'll need to build a Saved Schedule. A link to this course – along with lots of other helpful information! — can be found in the First-Year Student Orientation and Registration Guide linked below.
Create your Saved Schedule
After completing your Pre-SOAR Orientation Canvas Course, you'll have all the information you'll need to create your Saved Schedule in Workday. Complete this schedule before coming to SOAR in order to make your class registration quick and easy. Use the instructions below to log in to Workday and locate where to input your schedule.
Choose your FYSem
First-Year Seminars (FYSems) are engaging, small classes that provide an introduction to college and a community of other first-year students. All new first-years are required to take a FYSem. Your FYSem instructor will serve as your academic advisor.
Register for classes!
While at SOAR, you'll log in to Workday to register for classes using your Saved Schedule. CASA advisors, faculty, and ¾«Æ·Â鶹 staff will be on hand to answer questions. Having trouble with any part of the process? Read the New Student Registration FAQs below.
Check your email
Once you submit your registration via Workday at SOAR, CASA will review your course selections. If we have questions or concerns, we'll call or email you. Alternatively, if your course selections look appropriate, we'll email you and tell you that your registration is complete.
Once your registration is complete, a "registration hold" is placed on your schedule. This will prevent you from making changes to your schedule without first contacting CASA.
