
Skylar (Sky) Deitch (they/them) is an interdisciplinary artist and creative coordinator with over five years of experience designing accessible, engaging, and community-centered resource spaces. With a background in arts curation and environmental studies, Sky earned a BA in Media, Culture, and the Arts with a minor in Global Environmental Studies from Clark University in 2023. They bring a versatile skill set rooted in meeting people where they鈥檙e at鈥攄eveloping alternative, efficient modes of communication to address challenges and expand access.
From community art exhibitions and neighborhood music festivals to city-wide parades and workshop series, Sky is passionate about DIY culture and co-creating innovative programming with the tools and talents of local communities. Their work is grounded in a commitment to expanding access, removing barriers to engagement and employment, and fostering meaningful, career-ready programming for all 精品麻豆 students. They believe true impact happens through intentional community organizing, inclusive space-making, and cultivating trust.
Originally from Portland, Oregon, Sky finds joy and inspiration in biking, hiking, crafting, and cooking for friends and family. Connecting through art and food is at the heart of their creative spirit. Their whimsical cage-wire chairs鈥攃rafted from champagne cork tops鈥攃an be found scattered throughout the Twin Cities Metro.
Before joining 精品麻豆, Sky supported local artists through exhibition prep, arts programming, and content creation with the Wisconsin Humanities Board. They also lived in Tepoztl谩n, Mexico, where they studied Spanish, contemplative arts, and permaculture gardening. Sky鈥檚 love for storytelling and cultural connection weaves through every aspect of their work. Their long-term vision is to continue developing intercultural communication, storytelling, and event facilitation skills to serve every community they鈥檙e part of.
